'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles following the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative shot from distance, and Cameron Burgess quickly hammered in the loose ball before racing off toward the home end to celebrate, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result completed an extraordinary recovery given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. Amid the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. The midfielder recalled, "There was a supporter sort of calling out and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

That win earned a next round game at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith ran close at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's volley from about way out going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've awarded it to him for having a go from that far out," says Galbraith, who began the game centrally before shifting to right wing-back after Orient changed shape. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the opposition who praised the way his former team approached the match.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are outstanding but even the simple things and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to manage and neutralize a game. You can think you're doing well and then without warning they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It demands a tough attitude and focus just to stay in the game."

New Chapter

The club sought to acquire Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at his former club and has rapidly replicated that in his new home. At the London club he joined forces once more with his former manager, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in first-team action on loan at Doncaster from United. Then came a loan at lower division Salford City, before he departed his boyhood club.

Learning Curve

"I was probably a slightly green going into men's football. I think many athletes would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without real physicality. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adjust fast."

National Team Success

He has demonstrated that development for club and country, excelling for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including both legs fixtures against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his dad, the elder Galbraith, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Manchester United Experience

The player's only game for United came in Kazakhstan in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they competed on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was closed owing to the weather of bitter cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was freezing," he comments, chuckling. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and get a couple of minutes at the end was unbelievable."

Moving On

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm extremely thankful for the time I spent there but it became apparent where I felt I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play professional soccer. Now I'm slowly climbing the ladder."

New Environment

This occurs during the middle of the day at the club's training ground but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's so-called fun bus, a small coach driven by team personnel, the drivers, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"My companions include a teammate, another squad member, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's enjoyable to spend time with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the next one to drive independently and behind the wheel. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's always up to all sorts."

Public Engagement

When he represented Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on London's Central line after beginning his trip at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
